Inversions Foundational Workshop

Inversions Foundational Workshop

Led by: Melissa Paschke

From November 19, 2016 at 2:00 pm until November 19, 2016 at 4:00 pm at Dumbo

Gain new perspective and shift your perception by turning upside-down, opening your heart and flying into your yoga practice. By dissolving fear and inviting play, we will safely explore these sometimes avoided, often admired, and always magical offerings. Have you ever wanted to go upside down but felt fear or uncertainty? Have you ever wished you had more time in your flow class to figure them out, with guidance and space? Inversions are some of the most beneficial and strengthening of the asanas, but can also be the most intimidating. We will use the wall, props, partners and preparatory poses, to warm up, support and open the body. We will also learn variations and modifications for all levels. We will break down the principles of these shapes so that we may understand their foundations and how to practice safely. Take the opportunity to learn to feel lighter, more agile, balanced and more confident as you approach these poses with a deeper sense of courage that will support your journey on and off the mat. Open to all students with no pre-existing injury to the head/neck/spine/shoulders/wrists/retinas.

Early Bird (before 11/18): 5 Standard: 5
