Prenatal Yoga

Focus on you, your baby and the changes pregnancy brings within a supportive community. Safe, specialized prenatal asanas and deep relaxation techniques alleviate the common physical discomforts of pregnancy while creating tone and physical strength. This holistic class focuses on emotional well being to restore a feeling of calm and harmony. Embrace and address the changes occurring within our body and free ourselves from any inhibitions, anxiety or doubt, enjoy the sacred experience of pregnancy, birth and the journey into motherhood. No previous yoga experience is necessary, mothers-to-be at all stages are welcomed

 

Mommy + Me

Safely guide your body back from its life giving journey while bonding and having fun with your baby! Specialized asana with emphasis on toning the abdominal wall and pelvic muscles to restore alignment and strength for overall health. Breathing and restorative techniques address the emotional well being of the new mom. Options will be given to incorporate baby into poses. Have fun with movement and dance for an energy boost and lots of baby giggles. Feel support within a community of mothers, reclaim strength and tone. Open to all mothers 6 weeks postpartum and beyond, who have been given the okay by their health care provider to practice yoga. Bring baby, 6 weeks to 12 months.

    Please bring a baby blanket or muslin for baby to lie on.
    Dress baby lightly or in layers that can be removed.
    Bring filled water bottle for mom.

No previous yoga experience is needed.

Meet the teacher Roslyn Mok

Rosalyn Mok’s teachings support and encourage women in life’s most sacred journey through pregnancy and postpartum. Rosalyn’s own transformative experience through her three pregnancies and into motherhood serve to influence her teachings. In 2009, Rosalyn completed her 200 hour Anusara Yoga Teacher Training with Zhenja LaRosa and her Prenatal/Postnatal training in 2013, learning to incorporate modifications and therapeutics into her practice, with the guidance of her mentor Jennifer Pettit. Her pre/postnatal yoga practice serves to encourage bonding with baby and also provide tools and the courage to manage labor and birth into motherhood. Rosalyn is honored to support women through their own personal journey and to share her own insights with the community. Rosalyn’s other interests have led her to pursue careers in the arts and in teaching children. Rosalyn extends deep gratitude to Tara Glazier and Jennifer Pettit, who have enlightened her path along the way.
