Introduction to Sridaiva, a postural life practice. Part 4
Sridaiva is an alignment system which can be applied to all yoga, dance, athletics, and daily in our most common dynamic postures - sitting, standing, and walking.
Every posture or movement in Sridaiva aligns toward an optimal “bow-spring” template for the spine. The bow-spring neutral form has a circumferential fullness in the thoracic mid-back, a deep curve in the lower back, and a uniform arch in the neck. The double-S curve in the spine reflects a position the body in which the myofascial tone is balanced concentrically on the front and the back of the body. This is contrast to our default C-curve spinal form when we need to rest, assimilate, and protect.
Each class of this weekend is progressive and will build upon the preceding class. The 2 days are seen as a full introduction to the practice of Sridaiva for greater body-mind health and harmony for students of all ages.
