Downdog Tutorial
In this hour workshop tutorial we will look deeply for each of our individual down dogs. First we will define mutual Universality: Hip joint, Shoulder joint, Vertebral bones of the spine and curvature as well as basic muscles of the hip and shoulder joint and corresponding back muscles. From first understanding what we have in common, we can start to differentiate what makes us unique and how different patterns cause different tugs or misalignments.
Leave feeling more stable, more free and with a deeper understanding of your own anatomy!
The tutorial will include asana- yoga poses, therapeutic exercises, observation, and hands on adjustments. Students can opt out of hands on and choose to observe if they prefer.
Learn:
- To see and feel what a healthy lumbar curvature is
- To see and feel what healthy integration of the shoulder joint feels like/ looks like
- To understand see-saw principle in your own body (which part needs to stabilize and which part of the back needs to mobilize)
- See flexion and extension patterns in others’ bodies
- The balance of bone, muscle, and core stability
- WHY it is important to not over stretch the ligaments of the shoulders and long term effects
- WHY it is important to balance the actions in Down Dog and long term effects
