Led by: Ricky Tran
From November 3, 2018 at 2:00 pm until November 3, 2018 at 5:00 pm at Gowanus
The Great Yogi Patanjali wrote/compiled the Yoga Sutra, which is widely regarded as THE text book for Raja Yoga. Raja Yoga means royal yoga or the highest yoga. Raja comes from the word that means light, like a lighthouse. This yoga is the lighthouse for the seeker of the light. In other words Raja Yoga is the yoga of enlightenment. In Patanjali's Yoga Sutra, he only mentions asana (physical postures) in 3 verses out of around 200 verses. We will explore the reasons for such little emphasis on asana through discussion of the 3 verses followed by a strong and deep practice opening hips and back-bending. Some guided pranayama and meditation to end. Note taking ok but no recording please.
