The dream is the small hidden door in the deepest and most intimate sanctum of the soul, which opens to that primeval cosmic night that was soul long before there was conscious ego and will be soul far beyond what a conscious ego could ever reach. – Carl Jung
Winter is a wonderful time to go inward and explore the terrain of our dreams and imaginations. Dreaming is an innate psychic process that contains enormous potential for self-healing, yet so many of us don’t know what to make of our dreams or how to work with them to our advantage. In this workshop, students will learn techniques for recording their dreams and investigating their meaning(s) through writing, meditation, and active inquiry. Dreams are intensely personal phenomena, and it is important to learn what a dream’s symbols and images mean for you, not necessarily a text book definition. Through cultivating a relationship with our dream life, we can begin to unearth patterns and behaviors, encounter our shadow aspects, confront deep-seated fears and anxieties, and come into greater contact with our heart’s true desires. We will also sample medicinal herbs that are conducive to sleep, dreaming, and calming the nervous system.
Please bring a journal and/or sketchbook. Colored pencils will be provided.
