Anatomy Immersion Weekend 1
Led by: Ellen Saltonstall
From March 2, 2019 at 9:00 am until March 2, 2019 at 5:00 pm at Gowanus
Immerse yourself in the study of the human body in a lively interactive group setting, with yoga as our focus. The material in this course will enhance your yoga practice, and if you teach yoga, it will help you to serve your students with confidence. If you have found anatomy to be a challenging or dry topic, or you find that the information somehow doesn’t stick with you, this class is for you. If you’re already an anatomy enthusiast like me, this class is for you too.We will look at the bones, joints, muscles and important soft tissues, using visual aids and palpation. We will discuss the most common injuries and conditions and how yoga can help. This class is very practical and interactive. You will understand both your own and your students’ poses with more refinement and clarity, and you will see how the yoga principles of alignment really work.
Topics weekend 1 (9 AM - 12 PM, 2 PM - 5PM): Fascia, the spine, pelvis, hips, shoulders: biomechanics and therapeutics.
