In this training, immerse yourself in the theory and application of teaching Restorative Yoga. Restorative Yoga is a practice of receiving support and guiding the body into tranquility & healing. With the aid of props, the practitioner is placed in poses which soothes the nervous system, relaxes the mind, calms the spirit, boosts the immune system, and helps hormonal balance.

Through demonstration, lecture, discussion and practice-teaching, participants will:
-Practice several, luxurious Restorative Yoga postures, deepening one’s personal understanding
-Learn the science and anatomy behind stress and its detrimental effects on health
-Understand the importance of rest for mind, emotions, physical body and energetic body
-Create set-ups and adjustments for different body types and physical conditions
-Discuss environmental cues (music, sound, scent) that may enhance relaxation and renewal
-How to sequence restorative postures into public classes and with private clients

You must hold a 200-hour yoga teacher training certification to enroll in this training.
Please bring an eye pillow. Wear suitable clothing for light movement.

Narisara Vanichanan

For Narisara, teaching yoga is an opportunity to help others, and she offers a creative but structured environment where the present moment is honored. Specializing in private lessons and teacher trainings, Narisara blends poetry, the arts & science, anatomy studies & dharma into her classes and draws inspiration from everyday urban life. Outside the studio, Narisara has worked in consulting, fundraising, and arts & nonprofit management. She has a master’s in arts administration from Teachers College, Columbia University and is a graduate of Coro Leadership NY. A former dancer and photographer, Narisara Vanichanan received her 200-hr and 500-hr yoga teacher training from OM Yoga Center under Cyndi Lee, Pre-Natal Yoga certification from Janice Clarfield, Yin Yoga certification from Corina Benner, Restorative Yoga training from Judith Hanson Lasater, and is a graduate from the OM Meditation Teacher Training program. She is also certified an additional 200-hr Therapeutic Yoga from Abhyasa Yoga Center, in Yoga for Cancer with Tari Prinster and has practiced vipassana (insight) meditation for over 17 years. Narisara has studied advanced anatomy at The Breathing Project with Amy Matthews and Leslie Kaminoff for three years. She has additional certifications in pranayama and hand mudras with Joseph and Lillian LePage. She also offers myofascial release workshops through The Roll Model / Yoga TuneUp massage therapy balls.
Narisara is completing an extensive dhamma study program in Theravada Buddhism (Thai Forest tradition), administered by the Office of Royal Dhamma Study, approved by the Thai Buddhist Sangha Order of Thailand. In her offerings, she integrates her personal experience with acupuncture and TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). She was Judith Hanson Lasater’s assistant in Restorative Yoga for two years and has been consistently teaching full time for over 10 years.
